The Signed field in the UK Statutory Instruments database on Justis contains details of the signatory of the Statutory Instrument, including the name, position and department of the signing official(s). For example:

This is the most useful field for restricting a search to a particular government department:

To allow for ordinal and cardinal numbers, and for full and abbreviated months, you can use a search like this:

(17 or 17th) mar* 1998

Using abbreviated months can retrieve unexpected documents, for example “mar*” will match Marek or Markets.
