Case Law – Update Date Field
The Update Date field in the case law databases on Justis contains no data for documents that were present when the Justis 2 service was launched in September 2006. For documents added or modified after that date, this field contains the date when the new or modified document was added to the database.
This date is not visible in the document.
Formats that can be used to search this field include:
- 31 Oct 2006
- 31 October 2006
- 31-10-2006
- 31/10/2006
- 20061031
- 2006-10-31
- 2006/10/31
You can use the Date operators in this field.
Operator | Symbol | Definition |
BEFORE | < | Before the date |
AFTER | > | After the date |
ON | = | On the date |
FROM | Range start (use with TO) | |
TO | Range end (use with FROM) |
For example:
after 31/10/2006
from 01/11/2006 to 31/12/2006
before 01/12/2006 or after 31/12/2006
If you specify the operators, then from/to ranges are inclusive of both dates, i.e. the search will include the start and end dates that you type in.
If you use the 2 text boxes on the Search In Cases screen, then you can choose whether or not the dates are inclusive.
If you want to specify this field on the Quick Search screen or in the Full Text box on the Search In Cases screen, its name is “Update_Date”, and you can use a query such as:
update_date[after 20061031]
This field does not appear in the Outline or in the document.
