European Union Publications

The following European Union databases and printed publications are available in electronic form from Justis Publishing:

European Court Reports

The European Court Reports contain the full judgment of each case decided at the European Court of Justice, with translations in all of the official languages.

Sector 6 of the EU’s CELEX database is derived from the Reports, and English versions are available in the CELEX Case Law database on the Justis service.

Official Journal L Series

Each piece of binding secondary legislation enacted by the European Union must appear in the L (Legislation) series of the Official Journal of the European Union, which is published each working day. All of the Decisions, Directives and Regulations are first published in the Journal.

Sectors 3 and 4 of the EU’s CELEX database are derived from the entries in the Journal, and are available in the CELEX Legislation database on the Justis service.

The full reference to the document in the Official Journal L is given in the PubRef field.

Official Journal Supplement

The Supplement is published each working day on CD-ROM; publication in printed form ceased at the end of June 1998.

All public sector purchasing in the European Union over a certain value is advertised and tenders invited in the CD-ROM version of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ S). The OJ S also contains other documents, such as pre-information notices (information announced before a contract was open) and contract award notices (telling you who had won the contract and under what conditions).

The Tenders database on the World Wide Web includes all notices of the type that appear in the CD-ROM version of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, as well as notices from other sources. It covers calls for tender, pre-information notices, and contract awards issued by public sector organisations from all EU member states, as well as from countries outside the EU that are signatories to trade agreements with the EU.
