CELEX – Future Proposals Field (subsprep)


The Future Proposals field in the CELEX database on Justis is part of the Cross References group. In the Proposals database, it contains the CELEX document number(s) of subsequent preparatory Act(s) that apply to the current document, with a brief indication of the nature of the preparatory work. In the Treaties database, it contains the CELEX document number(s) of subsequent Treaties that modify the current document, with a brief indication of the nature of the preparatory work. For example:

EP-OPINION.... 51997AP0154......... LCR
Future Proposals     LINKED-TO..... 11992E189...........

Blue document numbers (e.g. 51996AP0199) indicate hypertext links to other documents – click a blue number to display the document.

In the Outline, this field is called “Future Proposals”.

In documents, this field is shown as “Future Proposals”.

If you want to use the Future Proposals field on the Quick Search screen or in the Full Text box on the Search In EU screen, its name is “subsprep”, and you can use a search such as:

subsprep[51996AP0199]

Used in the Treaties database (Sector 1), the External Agreements database (Sector 2), the Legislation database (Sectors 3 and 4), and the Proposals database (Sector 5).

The Future Proposals field is complementary to the Earlier Acts field, which is used in documents in the Proposals database and the Treaties database and lists the CELEX documents numbers of earlier documents used in the preparation of the current document.
