CELEX – Precise Legal Point field (concerns)


The Precise Legal Point field in the CELEX database on Justis is part of the Cross References group, and contains the CELEX document number(s) of Acts that are quoted in the operative part of a decision of the European Court. Each document number is preceded by the type of decision that the Court delivered on the Act. For example:

Precise Legal Point     Declares valid (by a preliminary ruling) 31990L0496 -
Interprets 31990L0496 -A01P4LK
Interprets 31990L0496 -A06P8

Blue document numbers (e.g. 31990L0496) indicate hypertext links to other documents – click a blue number to display the document.

In the Outline, this field is called “Precise Legal Point”.

In documents, this field is shown as “Precise Legal Point”.

If you want to use the Precise Legal Point field on the Quick Search screen or in the Full Text box on the Search In EU screen, its name is “concerns”, and you can use a search such as:

concerns[31992R2505]

Used only in the Case Law database (Sector 6).

One-letter codes were formerly used to indicate the following types of decision:

AAct declared void on application for annulment
BValidity of Act incidentally overturned
FValidity of Act confirmed on application for annulment
GValidity of Act confirmed in preliminary ruling
IAct interpreted in preliminary ruling
MAct modified on application for annulment
NValidity of Act incidentally overturned in preliminary ruling
SSuspension of execution of Act
TCompatibility of proposed agreement with provisions of EEC Treaty
WValidity of Act incidentally confirmed
ZProvisions referred to in proceedings concerning failure by Members States to fulfil obligations
